religious ocd

hi ya'll so yesterday I decided to read my bible in the morning before work, "which i never do"! I opened up to Matthew 12: 22. it talk about blasphemy against the holy spirit! man all of a sudden in my head I heard f-god! and were off to the races!! I went down a shame rabbit hole that is still bothering me! thoughts that I'm going to hell that god is angry with me! so I jumped on you tube to get some relief! I found all kinds of videos on this and did help but I'm hard headed and still feel some anxiety around this! can anyone relate? i know god love me and that this is ocd/the devil but still hurts a bit...

In Catholic tradition the sin against the Holy Spirit is actually a hardened hard. If you dont accept forgiveness. To your thoughts, ignore them. They arent from you. I struggle with blasphemous thoughts too. They feel real but you wouldnt want them.

I get you bud, I have all sorts of things that pop into my head. Do I really have faith, do I serve God or the devil, just a bunch of negative things popping in whenever I say something good or nice.

This is such a common OCD triggering verse. Why? B/c OCD is good at one thing.....finding what we value the most, and then coming up with worst case scenarios surrounding those things. So naturally, you value your relationship with God, and OCD takes this verse and puts us in a tailspin b/c the worst case scenario (inability to ever be pardoned for it) is worse than most worst case scenarios we can come up with. There is no surprise that this is a common OCD issue, even though THIS IS JUST ONE VERSE IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE. What helped me is the promise in John 6 where Christ says "the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." So clearly, those who commit the impardonable sin don't care that they did. All they wanted to do was disprove God's power. So clearly, that means that as long as we want to know Christ, admit He is the Son of God, and trust in Him for salvation; then we have NOT committed that sin. Same thing. I had an unwanted thought against the Holy Spirit once I learned about blasphemy and I struggle with the exact OCD thought you just said. You are not alone.

i am in this exact position. couldn’t read all the way through because it hurts too bad. but i saw enough to have an idea of where you are. God is BIGGER than the stupid, snot nose boogie man. just like veggie tales always taught us. i’m so sorry for where you are & what you’re experiencing. God’s eyes are upon His children. i actually rarely hear Him speak, but i think i did today. & i was reminded of a verse in Psalms: “if i make my bed in sheol (hell) You are there” & i also heard half of another verse too. “even if our hearts condemn us.” what follows that part is that GOD is BIGGER than our hearts. The Word also says the heart is deceitful!!!! when that thing starts spitting out hatred toward you, rest assured, you’re being deceived. you’re loved

@OCDSurvivor123 i interpret this verse as (either the mystery Psalmist or david) wrote this as in “even in the literal pits of our lives, God is still an ever-present help in trouble”

Religious OCD & Intrusive Thoughts

So about 2 weeks ago I started having blasphemous intrusive thoughts about God & Jesus! I’ve had them before but they’re hard to brush off because you feel awful and disgusted for even having them. They were “rejecting thoughts” I finally was able to just let them float on by and not pay attention to them. My main theme is doubting God & Jesus but I’ve noticed it’ll switch on me. Sometimes my mind will doubt if it’s OCD! So currently 2 days ago I’ve been getting the blasphemous thoughts again but when I said “I love you Jesus” I heard instead of Jesus it was Satan! I panicked and sometimes when I say I love Jesus and God I hear “I love you S____” it freaks me out!!! I love God & Jesus so much! Those thoughts cause so much anxiety!!! I would never say that thought and I wish it would go away or remove all those thoughts! I Like ughh those awful intrusive thoughts hurts so much! Some times if feels like I think them or say them purposely in my mind! But I try to remind myself I don’t want them! They cause so much anxiety and distress for a reason! It’s just so annoying when it’s constantly changing and throwing other “themes” I try to tell myself this is still in the same category! I had a certain blasphemous thought weeks ago and now it’s a “new” one and I think it’s still a thought it’s just different and maybe that’s how it’s trying to trip me up! But then usually a bunch of them start coming like beating me down! Maybe it’s the themes switching up on me again but ughh it’s really hard! Makes it feel like it’s me but I don’t want these thoughts at all!!! Everytime I say I love Jesus & God those thoughts come and just randomly! I feel like it’s “me” but I’m reminding myself it’s OCD! The more I react the more they come! They make me feel like God is mad at me or He doesn’t love me which I know isn’t true at all! I know He loves me so much!! It’s just so sad that my mind thinks that! Sometimes I feel like He is mad or will leave me but I know that’s not true!! Any advice please 😭

Religious OCD - Blasphemous Intrusive Thoughts

Hi everyone! My main theme in religious OCD is doubting God & Jesus! It hurts me heart I love them but I’m trying to remember His love and grace! Recently I’ve been having major blasphemous intrusive thoughts! I’ve had them before throughout my OCD journey but this time it’s kinda hard to let go and they’re coming so hard! They scare me! They can be very mean and just disgusting. Cursing, denying and just thoughts I hate! I ask for forgiveness and don’t always “feel” forgiven! I love Jesus & God! These thoughts hurt so much! Sometimes they make me feel like I want them or I’m saying them on purpose! I feel like I subconsciously “check” & ruminating on them. I know this is a normal and common OCD theme but it’s like sometimes I feel like I doubt my OCD! Especially whenever I have blasphemous intrusive thoughts! Like my brain just thinks “nope it’s you not OCD”. Like it doesn’t feel like OCD but Ik OCD can make it feel “very real”. It makes me feel like God is mad at me or upset! Or He doesn’t love me as much or just can’t be “forgiven” which I know is a lie and not true! I love God so much! Ik OCD attacks on hat we love it’s just my mind will doubt I have it! Please any tips to overcome these thoughts! I feel a lot of shame, guilt, fear, anxiety and sadness for having these thoughts! I know people say “they’re just thoughts” and not bad but they feel like that. Any advice?! Has anyone else gone through this?

Religious OCD

Does anyone feel they say/think there blasphemous intrusive thoughts on purpose? Sometimes I feel like I say them but i reject that! I don’t want to think these thoughts! u would never say them out loud! Apart of me thinks since I thought stop a lot and thought replace a lot thats when it’s coming. I start thinking "don’t think it, don’t think it". I’ll start rejecting the other thoughts but mid way they start going to God & Jesus! Or I’ll feel cursing thoughts coming and I’ll say f OCD or f these lies then it’ll go over to God & Jesus! Then you just end of thinking it. Idk if my OCD is wanting me to think “oh since you thought it you said”. Like Thought Action type thing. Does anyone else go through this? It hurts. i love God & Jesus so much and to think "what if i thought this or said it in my mind on purpose!" any advice?
