Guys Im currently feeling low as a christian. I dont feel anything. I dont feel that god lobes me that he wants to heal me that he hears me I just feel like a bad person because im struggling with thoughts especially sexual ones and the sad thing is i fear what if i lile these thoughts because sometimes i see a girl i find attractive and when there comes a thought i hate myself :‘)
I have soocd and I’m Muslim and for me this links to religion because I don’t wanna be gay at all and in islam it isn’t a good thing. I don’t want to be gay I hate the idea of it. Not disrespecting gays but it jus isn’t for me. So yes i can relate.
I'm a Christian with OCD. If ever I have these thoughts; I remind myself that OCD focuses on our greatest fears. And I know those are not true. I Remember that 'God has not given us a spirit of fear'. I struggle because I know that God loves everyone, forgives everyone, accepts everyone...but I'm the exception. My last therapist told me "well who are you? Why are you the outlier". And I did not have an answer. I am also one of God's children like everyone else.
@LordBovine Hello. If I may, I’m a Catholic. If you struggle with difficulties regarding Forgiveness, I might the Sacrament of Confession. You get such certainty that God forgives you when the Priest holds his hand over your head and says the Absolution Prayer. I hope that this recommendation comes across Charitably. All the best.

Hi Philip. I am a Catholic and I can sympathise with your struggles. I too sometimes find myself close to the temptation to Despair. When you’re in these moments, or times like them, always Pray for help. I would recommend the Rosary. They pass in time. Maybe it takes an entire day. I know this from experience. You will learn to cope with this! (And ps, capitalise God’s Name and ‘Christian’ and other like important Names and words).
Yeah Im catholic too. Confession is hard because i always doubt if it was good enough to be absolved.

I'm sorry your going through this. Sometimes we don't feel anything when we think about God. It happens. But we shouldn't draw conclusions about ourselves or our relationship with God on the basis of our feelings. This is a type of cognitive distortion that is generally not helpful. Challenge the thoughts - God's love does not depend on whether we feel it or not, His forgiveness does not depend on whether we feel it or not, it depends on Him.
Does anyone have hard time with sexuality and sexual things? I am worried to be sexual, that God is watching. I stopped everything remotely sexual. If it ever comes to the point where I will kiss someone again I will be so scared because God is watching me. And it will be uncomfortable because I won’t be enjoying the moment I will be thinking about my thoughts. I used to be totally fine and then all this came along and I feel like I can’t even be normal human. I have sexual dreams and I feel fine and aroused in them. Then I wake up and I’m like omg God doesn’t want me to think these things. I can’t even explain it all.. I wish I could all stop this and go back to normal me :’(
I think I have to admit that I have some problems with seeing God as a Father. My biological dad left when I was young about 4 years old. It seems to me that because I never really had a healthy relationship wirh my dad I cant have this basic trust in God who is a Father. In my mind He is more a just judge who only waits for us to sin in order to punish us. I know that this cant be true and that this is probably my scrupulosity. Im currently struggling again with sexual thoughts more than usual and I dont know why. The only thing which annoys me is that I wanna believe that He still loves me. Does anyone experience difficulties with similar things about parents etc.?
3 hours awake and I already hate my life again. It was a bit stressful now and every time I am in a hurry I feel that my intrusive thoughts become stronger or more intense. My thoughts are maily blasphemous or sexual and I really cant get over the thought that I might have sinned. Sometimes I also feel jealous and envious when I see especially other christians who dont seem to have any problems. I cant even think that God loves me because I am a terrible person.
